Every link you save on Pro gets the Smart Save treatment — full content, AI summaries, and natural language search.
Basic Save vs Smart Save
Basic Save is what every user gets for free. Shiori saves the link with its title, favicon, and a clean URL. You can save unlimited links this way.
Smart Save is for Pro subscribers. On top of everything Basic Save does, Shiori extracts the full page content, generates an AI summary, and indexes the link for natural language search. It also extracts YouTube transcripts, X/Twitter content, PDF text, and more.
Monthly limit
Pro subscribers get 500 Smart Saves per month. After 500, new links are saved with Basic Save until your limit resets at the start of your next billing cycle.
Buying more credits
If you need more than 500 Smart Saves in a month, you can purchase credit packs:

Credits kick in automatically after your monthly Smart Saves are used up. Purchased credits require an active Pro subscription — if your subscription expires, your credits are preserved and available when you resubscribe.
Credits never expire
Purchased credits carry over indefinitely — they don't reset at the end of your billing cycle. Only your monthly 500 Smart Saves refresh each cycle.
Audio transcription
Audio uploads have a separate monthly limit of 60 minutes, independent from Smart Saves. Audio minutes can't be supplemented with purchased credits — the 60-minute cap resets with each billing cycle.
RSS subscriptions
Each new item from your RSS subscriptions uses 1 Smart Save, the same as saving a link manually. High-volume feeds will use up your monthly limit faster, so choose your subscriptions accordingly.
X bookmark backfill
The backfill feature imports your full X bookmark history into Shiori. Each bookmark uses 1 Smart Save. Duplicates are automatically skipped, so you're never charged twice for the same link.
